10 Things I Wish I Knew Before I got Microblading

February 25, 2023

If you’re considering getting microblading, it’s important to do your research beforehand. As someone who was looking for microblading near me and has now personally experienced the process, I’ve learned a lot along the way. That’s why I’ve compiled a list of 10 things I wish I knew before I got microblading. So let’s get into it:

1. It’s not a one-time procedure

While microblading is often referred to as a “semi-permanent” makeup solution, it’s important to note that it’s not a one-time procedure. Touch-ups are typically required every 12-18 months to maintain the desired look. This is very normal as you probably wouldn’t want a permanent tattooed eyebrow.

2. It’s not completely painless

While everyone’s pain tolerance is different, it’s important to note that microblading can be uncomfortable. A numbing cream is typically applied beforehand, but you may still feel some discomfort during the procedure. Having said this, it is more than bearable, discomfort is minimal and way worth it.

3. Research your artist

Finding a qualified and experienced microblading artist is crucial. Research their previous work and read their microblading reviews from past clients to ensure you’re in good hands. Luckily I chose Amy and she was very knowledgable, professional and caring.

4. Follow aftercare instructions closely

Proper aftercare is essential for optimal healing and long-lasting results. Be sure to follow your artist’s microblading aftercare instructions closely to avoid any complications.

5. Results may vary

Everyone’s skin is different, which means results may vary from person to person. For example, oily skin can fade quicker. Be sure to have realistic expectations and just trust the process.

6. Don’t overpluck before the procedure

It’s important not to overpluck your eyebrows before the procedure, as this can affect the shape and overall look of the microblading. Semi-Permanent brows don’t replace your eyebrows so you don’t need to pluck them beforehand. Trust your artist to guide you and leave it to them.

7. It’s important to communicate with your artist

During the procedure, it’s important to communicate with your artist to ensure you’re both on the same page. Don’t be afraid to speak up if you have any concerns or questions.

8. It’s not just for sparse brows

Microblading can be used to enhance the appearance of sparse brows, but it can also be used to create a more defined and fuller look.

9. It’s not just for women

Microblading isn’t just for women. Men can also benefit from the procedure, particularly if they have sparse or uneven brows. A few of my male friends are considering booking in after seeing the transformation Amy did with mine.

10. It can be life-changing

Microblading can be a life-changing procedure for many people, giving them newfound confidence and a more polished appearance. It’s hard to put this into words, if your brows are getting you down, this treatment will give you a lot of confidence.

Microblading can be a fantastic solution for those looking to enhance their eyebrows. By doing your research, finding a qualified artist, and following proper aftercare, you can achieve beautiful and long-lasting results. Just remember to have realistic expectations and trust the process.
